Privacy Policy
Manmel is built for people looking for a life partner, so trust matters more than anything. This policy explains, in plain words, what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Manmel ("we", "us") is an early-stage matrimony and relationship service for Gujaratis, run by the Manmel team in Gujarat, India. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here.
2. What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| First name | To address you properly |
| WhatsApp number | To message you when Manmel opens |
| City | To plan which cities open first |
| Woman / Man | To keep early access balanced |
| Date and time you joined | To honour founding-member order |
If you contact us through our contact form or by email, we also receive your name, your email or WhatsApp number, and your message. We use these only to reply to you and keep them for up to 12 months.
We do not ask for your photos, date of birth, religion, caste, income, ID documents or any payment details on this website. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data.
Like any website, our hosting provider and font provider (Google Fonts) may automatically receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type when you load a page. We do not use this to identify you.
3. Why we use it
We use your data only with your consent, which you give by submitting the waitlist form, and only to:
- tell you on WhatsApp when Manmel launches in your area;
- give you the founding-member benefits described on our website;
- understand demand by city and keep the early community balanced.
We will not send you unrelated promotions, and we will never share your number with other members.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Manmel, under their own security and privacy terms:
- Google (Google Sheets and Apps Script) to store the waitlist;
- our website host, to serve this website;
- WhatsApp, when we message you.
These providers may store data on servers outside India. We may also disclose data if required by Indian law, a court order or a lawful request from a government authority.
5. How long we keep it
We keep waitlist data until Manmel launches and for up to 12 months after, so we can offer you founding-member benefits. After that, or sooner if you ask, we delete it. If you create a Manmel account, the app's privacy policy will apply to that account.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- withdraw consent at any time; we will stop messaging you and delete your data;
- ask what data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update your details;
- ask us to erase your data;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to;
- raise a grievance with us, and if not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, message us using the details in section 10. We will acknowledge it within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
7. Keeping it safe
Only the Manmel team can access the waitlist, through accounts protected with strong passwords and two-step verification. The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affecting your data ever happens, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Age
Manmel is only for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has joined the waitlist, contact us and we will delete their details.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when Manmel changes, especially before the app launches. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes, we will tell you on WhatsApp before they take effect.
