These are the Child Safety Standards for Manmel: Verified Matrimony (Android app, package com.manmel.app), published by Peoplecraft Studio, India.
Manmel has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any such content or behaviour is strictly prohibited on Manmel and will lead to immediate removal and reporting to the authorities.
1. Manmel is for adults only
- Manmel is a matrimony app for adults aged 18 or over who are looking for marriage.
- Every member must enter their date of birth when signing up. The app does not allow anyone under 18 to create a profile.
- Every profile and every new photo is checked by a person on our team before it is shown to other members. We compare photos with a live selfie, and we reject any profile that appears to belong to someone under 18.
- If we learn that a member is under 18, we remove the account straight away.
2. What is prohibited
On Manmel, no one may:
- create, upload, share, request or link to any sexual or sexualised content involving a person under 18 (CSAM);
- groom, solicit, sexualise or exploit a minor in any way, including through chat;
- arrange or try to arrange contact with a minor for sexual purposes;
- share any content that sexualises children, including drawings, AI-generated images or text;
- create a profile for, or pretend to be, a person under 18;
- use Manmel to promote, sell or trade any content or service that exploits children.
These rules apply to profiles, photos, prompts, chat messages and any other content on Manmel.
3. How to report
In the app: open the person’s profile or chat, tap Report, and choose “Looks under 18” or “Something else”. You can also block them. The reported person is never told who reported them.
By email: write to support@manmel.com with the subject “Child safety”. Include the member’s name and any details you can share. Please do not send any illegal images to us.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police at 112 straight away.
4. What we do when we receive a report
- Act quickly. Our team reviews child safety reports with the highest priority, normally within 24 hours.
- Remove the content and the account. The profile is hidden from everyone and the member is removed from Manmel. Their mobile number cannot sign up again.
- Preserve evidence. We keep a secure record of the account, photos, reports and relevant chats, as described in our Privacy Policy, so that it can be given to the authorities.
- Report to the authorities. We report apparent child sexual abuse material and child exploitation to the appropriate authorities, including the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal of India (cybercrime.gov.in) and the police, as required by law.
- Cooperate with law enforcement on any investigation.
5. Laws we follow
Manmel complies with all applicable child safety laws, including India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 (including Section 67B) and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
